The unique Aquariva Super “Blue Wonderful”, created in collaboration with Sir Elton John is sold at auction at the Yacht Club de Monaco. All proceeds will be donated to the Italian Civil Protection for immediate interventions in the areas affected by the earthquake. A 33- foot Special Edition motor yacht is named after the artist’s latest single, was auctioned yesterday evening at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
The charity auction, that was announced by Sir Elton John and Alberto Galassi, CEO of the Group, during the Ferretti Group Private Preview last September 2nd in Monte Carlo, ended at the Yacht Club de Monaco during the Christmas cocktail organized by Monaco Boat Service, the exclusive Riva dealer for the Principality of Monaco and France.
The one-off Aquariva Super “Blue Wonderful” boasts the color and interior elements selected by Sir Elton John and Officina Italiana Design, the studio that exclusively creates the design of the brand Riva, The motor yacht was sold to a generous owner who asked to remain anonymous. The final and winning bid was an amount of 430,000 Euro plus tax.
As a symbol of Italian excellence in the yachting industry, we immediately felt the need to give our support to the areas hit hardest by the earthquake. We decided to donate one of our most beautiful and iconic boats, the Aquariva Super, made even more exceptional by the creative genius of our friend, and Riva owner, Sir Elton John, who personally selected this version of ‘Blue Wonderful’ making this a unique and unrepeatable unit. – Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO
The proceeds of the initiative will entirely go to the Italian Civil Protection, to support immediate relief projects and endorse reconstruction of the areas affected by the earthquake. The yacht will have a special commemorative plaque to remember that this Aquariva “Blue Wonderful” was donated by Ferretti Group to Italy.
