British luxury auto manufacturer Aston Martin has tapped Super Bowl LI MVP and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for a yet-to-be-announced collaboration. The automaker has teased the partnership in a new 30-second YouTube video, which states “Tom Brady and Aston Martin – Coming Soon.” The teaser’s debut was shared ahead of Mr. Brady and the Patriots’ overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons on February 5.
Tom Brady is one of only two players, and the only quarterback, to win five Super Bowls, and the only player to win them all playing for one team. Using his popular image, he has endorsed brands including Uggs, Under Armour, Movado, and Glaceau Smartwater. According to Forbes, the sportsman earned about $7 million from endorsements alone in 2014. In 2016 he began appearing in a Beautyrest Black commercial campaign for Simmons Bedding Company and last year even launched his own line of vegan snacks.
Aston Martin x Tom Brady teaser showcases a closeup shot of a football helmet, football-themed vignettes, and elements of an Aston Martin car. It finishes with a coming soon announcement, but does not give any clues as to if the partnership with New England Patriots quarterback is for a new vehicle campaign or for the automaker’s lifestyle line.
