SIHH 2016 witnesses the new Audemars Piguet Diamond Fury hidden jeweled watch cuff that features 4,635 brilliant cut diamonds and a new avant-garde design
Audemars Piguet Diamond Fury Haute Joaillerie Watch is garnished with an impressive 4,635 brilliant-cut diamonds in the case and bracelet, while another 206 brilliant cut diamonds embellish the dial. It required 1,500 hours to craft the sharp angular design of the watch, engineer it as well as coat in jewelry.
Audemars Piguet Diamond Fury Haute Joaillerie Watch is 40mm-wide piece that features a slim Calibre 2601 quartz movement, quintessential for the micro size of the dial. The pave-encrusted two-hand diamond watch dial is hidden in so-called “suicide hinge” in which one of the spikes unhinges with a push to open upwards to reveal the time. The hands of the timepiece are made from “blackened gold” which can be achieved by applying black rhodium plating over white gold.
18K white gold is the basis for 1.8mm thick Audemars Piguet Diamond Fury is available exclusively at the Audemars Piguet boutique. It’s worth mentioning that the new AP’s ladies timepiece is based on last year’s Diamond Punk, but the Diamond Fury features a fluid design that makes the timepiece look like armor-plated. There are two versions of the new Audemars Piguet Diamond Fury, the full diamond pave model costs $637,800 and a diamond/onyx combination is priced at $568,300.
