Festival of Lights at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens (November 25 – 27; December 2 – 4; December 9 – 11; December 16 – 18, 2016)
Every weekend from the end of November till the weekend before Christmas, the Mendocino Coast Botanical gardens creates a winter wonderland, stringing tens-of-thousands of lights throughout the 47 acre seaside haven. The Succulent Garden morphs into a fantastic underwater scene of seaweed and floating jellyfish. A sailing brig, which struck near-by reefs in 1850, is reanimated in dazzling lights amidst the Gardens’ nationally recognized Heath and Heather Collection. Visit Santa’s workshop and warm up by the campfire, roasting a marshmallow or two. Crab, Wine and Beer Festival (January 20 – 29, 2017)
