Champagne De Watère Cuvée 1er Cru Brut Blanc and Cuvée 1er Cru Brut Rosé de Saignée are among the top 5 sparkling wines in the world. According to the results of the International Wine Guide Awards 2016 both Cuvées won the prestigious Great Gold Medal.
The competition International Wine Guide Awards is organized and developed by Catavinum in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. The “Great Gold” Medal is only awarded to those outperforming the criteria for Gold medals, honoring the outstanding quality and taste of the champagne. This year, out of thousands of participating wines, only six Great Gold medals were won by champagnes and two of those were given to Champagne De Watère. This makes it the only champagne whose entire selection has won a medal.
Champagne De Watère is made in the Vallée de la Marne – the heartland of Champagne, France – from a single Premier Cru Vineyard. This exceptional champagne is known for its overwhelming taste and understated elegance and its balanced yet powerful character.
De Watère Cuvée 1er Cru Brut Blanc is composed of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay that ripened to perfect blend for at least 3 years in private chalk caves. De Watère Cuvée Brut Rosé de Saignée, from 100% Pinot Noir, has a profound red color and possess the immaculate taste of blackberries and raspberries.
