The premium spirit brand Crystal Head Vodka, is produced in Newfoundland, Canada and is easily recognizable due to their skull-shaped bottle. Last year, the brand, founded in 2008 by actor, musician, and entrepreneur, Dan Aykroyd, has launched Aurora edition that comes in a uniquely crafted bottle with an iridescent finish, a reminiscence of the amazing aerial phenomenon in the world – the aurora borealis or the Northern Lights. This year, the ultra-stylish decanter becomes even more luxurious.
Crystal Head Vodka has joined forces with London-based jewelers The Great Frog, famous for their skull rings. The collaboration gave birth to a crown stopper that adorns the top of the limited-edition Aurora Magnum. Cast on a hand-carved piece of wax using hand tools, the 18k gold crown stopper is embellished with over 100 rubies, sapphires, emeralds, garnets, amethyst and black diamonds and features an intricate pave set of diamonds around the collar.
The unique bottle was showcased at the Lights of Soho members’ club and neon art gallery and will be available exclusively in-store at Selfridges from October 2016 costing around $13,000.
The additive-free, ultra-premium vodka is made with high quality English-grown wheat from North Yorkshire and water from St John’s, Newfoundland. It is five times distilled and filtered seven times, with three of the filtrations passing through layers of Herkimer diamonds. Instead of exploring different flavours, Aurora was crafted using a different grain, which offers a drier, bolder, and spicier vodka.
