Ocean House Management (OHM), owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, and Wykeham Rise Hotel partner to develop Wykeham Rise , a luxury inn and residence in Washington, Connecticut. Located 80 miles north of New York City, the 27-acre luxury inn broke ground on April 1st, with an anticipated opening date in summer 2019.
Wykeham Rise re-imagines the country inn for the 21st century, cultivating a community for outdoor enthusiasts and lifelong learners. It is set amidst 4,500 acres of nature preserves and 36 miles of hiking trails, offering 54 rooms, signature suites, cottages, and an 11,000-square-foot boutique suite-style spa. The property will also feature an outdoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a wine and culinary education center, and a dynamic roster of activities under the direction of a full-time Naturalist. The luxury inn will offer multiple indoor and outdoor meeting and entertainment venues, a kitchen garden and orchard, swimming pool, skating pond, sledding field, and acres of hiking trails.
As a member of Ocean House’s collection of properties, Wykeham Rise will continue Ocean House’s tradition of world-class service and operational excellence. Ocean House and renowned interior designer, Karen Davis, have created public rooms and guest suites with enduring appeal, blending modern and vintage pieces for a beautifully stylish and warm aesthetic. Custom furniture and design advisory is offered by Bruce Glickman and Wilson Henley, owners of one of Manhattan’s top showrooms, Duane, which specializes in distinctive mid-century modern antiques.
The project will feature one- and two-story privately owned residences managed by OHM, allowing owners to place their units into the inn’s rental program. Each will include multiple master suites and luxuriously appointed indoor and outdoor spaces, custom designed to meet the owner’s specifications. Owners will enjoy access to the full range of amenities afforded to inn guests.
