The Mercedes-Maybach sub-brand has showcased a new member to its lavish lineup, the $300,000 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet, which instantly became the star of the Los Angeles Auto Show. Only 300 vehicles will be produced and just 75 of those will be sold in the United States. Moreover, there are only three color combinations available for American customers: Zircon Red with a porcelain and black interior and black soft top, Cote d’Azur blue with a porcelain and saddle brown interior and beige soft top, or designo Diamond White with a porcelain and yacht blue interior and dark blue soft top.
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is based on the S600 sedan and features similar seductive silhouette which in combination with a coupe-like soft top, finished with wooden trim that includes an inlaid Maybach logo, make it one of the most luxurious drop tops. It is powered by a 6.0L V-12 bi-turbo engine which produces 621 PS and 1000 Nm of torque. This comes paired with a seven-speed automatic. An upgraded AIRMATIC suspension system puts further emphasis on comfort.
The new convertible features the new front bumper, which is redone with more chrome at the lower edge, and it sits on the 20-inch Maybach forged wheels.
The interior trim is commissioned individually for each model, and it covers the convertible top compartment, the door panels and instrument panels.
Every car will be delivered with a set of exclusive travel luggage from “Maybach – Icons of Luxury” and a key ring made of the same nappa leather as the upholstery. A chrome-plated “1 of 300” badge will decorate the center console as a reminder of the car’s exclusivity.
