Roberto Cavalli Spring-Summer 2017 advertising campaign is fronted by Australian model Jordan Barrett, who is joined by New Zealand supermodel and Victoria Secret’s angel Stella Maxwell. For the very first campaign of the new year, the designer chose fashion photographer brothers Luca and Alessandro Morelli to capture the essence of the Spring/Summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection. The brothers collaborate with stylist Marina Gallo for the picturesque outing.
For Roberto Cavalli Spring-Summer 2017 campaign, Stella Maxwell and Jordan Barrett are pictured wandering across a desert landscape in Boho gowns: striped jackets, skinny flares, drifty dresses, fringed blankets, and shawls. In an effort to let the attire to speak for itself, the pictures are rather minimalistic, there is only blue sky juxtaposed to the golden hills of sand. The models are portrayed hiking up a dune wearing denim or simply showing off a free spirit in Cavalli’s decadent prints pieces.
Roberto Cavalli Spring-Summer 2017 collection was the last designed by Creative Director Peter Dundas. He left the fashion house after only three seasons. The Norwegian-born designer had worked at Cavalli during its blossoming period from 2002-2005 and returned in March 2015 after completing a seven-year work as Pucci’s creative director. He had the delicate task of reviving a brand viewed as past its prime while retaining its most iconic elements after the house founder, Roberto Cavalli, sold a majority stake to private equity firm Clessidra. No successor for Peter Dundas has been named so far.
