The Karlbox by Karl Lagerfeld & Faber-Castell

To convey the symbiosis between artist and tool, Faber-Castel, one of the world’s largest and oldest manufacturers of art supplies and high-end writing instruments, pays tribute to the inexhaustible creative power of Karl Lagerfeld. The Karlbox is a unique art supply kit consisting of 350 tools for drawing and painting that are housed in a sleek black wooden box resembling a Chinese wedding cabinet.

The Karlbox by Karl Lagerfeld & Faber-CastellThe $2,850 Karlbox is divided into several drawers which contain the primary colors; markers, crayons, colour pencils, including reds, blacks, greens, yellows and blues set out like a colour chart. Only 2,500 will be produced and sold exclusively at Faber-Castell stores, Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and Harrods in London. Select department and specialty stores like Breuninger in Stuttgart, Jelmoli in Zurich, Le Bon Marché in Paris and Gump’s in San Francisco, will also offer the box from September 19.

The top tier of The Karlbox is filled with artists´ graphite pencils CASTELL 9000 in the standard- and jumbo version as well as PITT GRAPHITE CRAYONS in various degrees of hardness. The watersoluble GRAPHITE AQUARELLE is the ultimate tool for creating preliminary sketches and watercolor paintings. The lightfast India ink PITT ARTIST PENS FINALIZER is the great choice for detailed drawings. The limited-edition art supply kit also includes a watercolour brush, sharpeners, erasers and a water cup.

Each of the six drawers, that can be pulled out of the box, houses the fully watersoluble ALBRECHT DÜRER ARTISTS´ WATERCOLOUR PENCILS of unsurpassed lightfastness and colour brilliance as well as the POLYCHROMOS ARTISTS´ COLOUR PENCILS with their smooth, intense color laydown and outstanding lightfastness. In completion of the color world there are the highly pigmented POLYCHROMOS ARTISTS´ PASTELS for detailed drawing and shading of larger areas. Each drawer is fitted with a space-saving deployment mechanism for a convenient and comfortable removing of the drawing instruments.
