The Macallan has completed its Six Pillars Collection with a 65-year-old Scotch whisky, the Peerless Spirit, one of the oldest and rarest ever released by the distillery
The Six Pillars Collection is a range of six whiskies that were born in collaboration between The Macallan and Lalique, unifying the Master of Crystal with the Masters of Spirit and Wood. The Peerless Spirit is the sixth and final decanter in the Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars Collection and features a 65-year-old single malt whisky, one of the oldest and rarest released by the distillery.
The final release in the Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars Collection will be distributed by Maxim UK. A limited edition of only 450 individually numbered decanters will be priced at $34,330 (£23,500) and is available from 1st July from specialist whisky retailers, including; Harrods, Hedonism and The Whisky Exchange.
The design of the Peerless Spirit decanter is inspired by the blown and pinched technique used to create outstanding Lalique perfume bottles. This final vessel as well as the other five from the Macallan In Lalique Six Pillars Collection have all taken their inspiration from a design or a specific technique found in René Lalique’s heritage. Inside the lavish decanter is the rare expression, which has been aged in ex-Sherry casks.
