Debuted in June, 2016, Wanda Reign on the Bund has established new standards in design, luxury and comfort and became not only Shanghai’s first ever 7-star hotel but also the city’s landmark. The destination of choice for China’s elite millennials, the hotel is located along the iconic Huangpu River within the walking distance from the ancient Yu Garden and City God Temple.
The exterior of Wanda Reign on the Bund was designed by British architectural firm Foster and Partners while the interiors were created by Wanda Design Institute. Inspired by the architecture of old Shanghai, the building is a mix of Chinese traditional patterns and textures and classical architecture. The hotel’s interior is a nod to the elegance of the city’s cultural art elements from the 1920s and 1930s, such as magnolias and traditional Suzhou embroidery.
All 193 luxurious guestrooms including 14 uniquely designed suites of Wanda Reign on the Bund boast the panoramic vista of The Bund, Huangpu River, Pudong skyline and the ancient Yu Garden. Guestrooms are stylized in two distinctive design: Trendy with high energy (Art Deco glamour with modernity) and Noble, Luxurious and Distinguished (mahogany burl wood, magnolia embroideries and Art Deco elements to create a distinct sense of place). Needless to say that each room is crammed with advanced digital devices and even the door is equipped with a digital mini screen peephole, with images that can be viewed on the in-room LCD TV. The suits exclusively features an advanced massage chair from Ogawa, a 55-inch B&O LCD television, a 5.1 Sound Bar system and Hermes personal care amenities.
Located at the top of the hotel building (20th floor), the 288-square-meter Chairman Suite has the most breathtaking views of the historic Bund, Huangpu River and Pudong skyline. The exclusive, beautifully appointed suite features a spacious living room, a grand dining area with adjoining pantry, a stylish bar, separate study room, and a master bathroom with a sauna and a large massage bathtub. The Chairman Suite offers a perfect customized collection of furniture and sumptuous upholstery blended elegantly with an eclectic mix of exceptional Suzhou embroideries in classy spun gold and contemporary artworks.
The hotel features four restaurants, one lounge and a rooftop club including MARC restaurant, helmed by Michelin-starred French chef, Marc Meneau; Café Reign, an all-day-dining restaurant; RIVER DRUNK, a Huaiyang Chinese restaurant; HE Japanese Restaurant and Lobby Lounge.
