Anthony Vaccarello, Creative Director of Saint Laurent surprises the fashion world with his latest creation: Anya 100 Patch Pump Roller. The bizarre pair of heels is made from different types of leather and decorated with catchy appliqués, rivets and crystals. However the main attraction is under the heel: the pump features one wheel on its point and two more on the outsole and a stopper in front.
Saint Laurent Anya 100 Patch Pump Roller has only been rolled out in Europe and will cost around $2,600. They previously appeared in the brand’s controversial campaign images that were banned by France’s Autorité de Régulation Professionnelle de la Publicité over allegations that the images were demeaning to women.
Anya 100 Patch Pump Roller illustrates contemporary and minimalist style of Anthony Vaccarello. Italian-Belgian fashion designer is famous for creating intricate silhouettes by balancing vulnerable nudity with radical structuring.
The eccentric pump is more than likely named after Anthony Vaccarello’s ultimate muse Anja Rubik. After winning the Association Nationale pour le Developpement des Arts de la Mode, or ANDAM fashion award, he has launched two collections for La Redoute and it was then when he chose Anja Rubikas his androgynous muse for the brand’s advertising campaign.
