English luxury phone maker Vertu has unveiled the latest iteration of its Signature Touch smartphone
Vertu
Encased in handcrafted, fine leather and grade 5 titanium, the new Vertu Signature Touch is able to sync with iCloud, encrypt messages and calls, remain unscathed after accidents and even organize its owner the trip of a lifetime. With the new Signature Touch, Vertu’s “Dedicated Concierge”, a service that provides a single point of contact to act as the owner’s personal assistant, is now complimentary for 18 months instead of just 12. A partnership with Silent Circle also means encrypted communications, and the Vertu Lost Phone service lets users lock, wipe, find, and call their device.
Vertu Signature Touch features a 5.2-inch Full-HD (1920x1080p) LCD display protected by a 5th Generation sapphire crystal screen.
It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has 64GB of internal storage and comes with a 64GB microSD card though the slot supports cards up to 2TB. The phone has high-fidelity 13mmx18mm loudspeakers with Dolby Digital Plus technology and a 3160mAh battery.
The main camera has been upgraded to a 21-megapixel resolution with f/2.2 aperture, a dual-tone LED flash, phase detection auto-focus and 4K video recording. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is stuck with the same old 2.1-megapixel resolution, so hopefully there’s at least some improvement in image quality.
A range of four colors, across eight product executions – Jet Calf, Garnet Calf, Grape Lizard, Pure Jet Lizard, Jet Alligator, Pure Navy Alligator, Clous de Paris Alligator and Pure Jet Red Gold, give the latest Vertu Signature Touch iteration an upgraded attractive look. One of the highlights of the $10,000 smartphone is the metal Gull-Wing doors placed on each side of the rear camera. While one side features a microSD card slot, other side includes a SIM card slot.
Vertu Signature Touch will be available in stores globally starting 16th October 2015. The entry-level calf-leather model (in black or red) costs $9,000 while lizard skin sells for $10,100 (purple) and $11,200 (black). Jet Alligator style won’t be cheaper costing $13,000 (black), $14,500 (navy), and $16,600 (grey). Vertu also offers the quilted black calf leather handset, with gold accents, for $19,000 and an opportunity to complement the new Signature Touch with an additional leather case, ranging from $560 to $2,780.
