The new 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo offers both the performance of a sports car and the comfort of a luxury sedan. The automaker equipped the vehicle with the new powerful twin-turbo engines. Moreover, due to the new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK II) the engines are up to 16 percent more fuel-efficient according to the New European Driving Cycle. The 550 hp Panamera Turbo is fitted with all-wheel drive as standard.
The design language of the new Panamera creates a link to the Porsche 911 with a lowered roof profile, beefier shoulder, and headlamps that have been broadened a bit. In addition to these stylistic changes in the body, the interior of the car is much lighter and the new Porsche Advanced Cockpit with its smartphone-like user interfaces and configurable LED screens impresses with its intuitive functionality.
The 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo now offers features such as the new three-chamber air suspension, rear axle steering and the new electronic “4D Chassis Control” chassis management system.
The Porsche Panamera Turbo’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 develops 550 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 567 lb-ft between 1,960 and 4,500 rpm. It has 30 horsepower more than the previous model, and its maximum torque has been increased by 51 lb-ft. Panamera Turbo runs from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds; with the Sport Chrono Package, this time is reduced to just 3.4 seconds. Top speed is 190 mph,—impressive for a 4398 pound sedan.
The 2017 Porsche Panamera is slated to hit US dealers just in time for next year’s Detroit Auto Show (January 2017) and will be priced at $147,950.
