378 West End Avenue, an architecturally stunning new development located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side at the corner of West 78th Street and West End Avenue, just launched sales. The 58 unit building with one to six bedrooms is developed by Alchemy Properties (of the Woolworth Tower Residences) and designed by Cookfox Architects.
The architecture is meant to fit contextually into the neighborhood but stands out in a very unique way. Its intricate design combines an existing building with a new structure and incorporates three different facades. Also, in the last year, the team was able to adjust the elements of design to promote residents’ health and safety as a direct result of Covid through the newest tech.
For 378 West End Avenue features three unique facades. The original building’s classic facade is detailed with granite, limestone, and brick with ornamental polychrome terracotta. The new tower’s north and west facade feature a light cream brick color, while the south façade of the building that overlooks the historic Collegiate Church, makes use of warm brick and metalwork reflecting the landmark church’s design. The building’s decorative screens are inspired by the church’s rose windows that are used throughout the windows, terraces and Juliet balconies, as well as a custom sundial that is integrated into the facade to showcase how the sun moves across the building.
The building features over 11,000 square feet of amenities, which is notable for its size. Amenities include a 75-foot-long saltwater pool with sauna, squash court, basketball half-court, sports simulator, fitness center, yoga, and barre studio. Additionally, there is a club room with a screening lounge, billiards table and separate catering kitchen, reading room, outdoor garden terrace, music room and recording studio, children’s playroom, and private garage with covered dropoff.
378 West End Avenue includes one- to six- bedroom residences, including a collection of penthouses. Pricing for one-bedroom homes start at $1,795,000 up to five-bedrooms starting at $9,895,000 and penthouse pricing up to $26,000,000.
