Since launching sales, The Rowan has set – and then broken its own – sales record for the highest price paid for a 2BR in the vibrant Queens neighborhood. Now for the first time, Astoria’s newest luxury condominium development designed by DXA Studio is unveiling its model apartments to the public, outfitted by award-winning interior design team BHDM Design.

Interior designer Dan Mazzarini, principal of BHDM Design, took a very different approach to staging the model units inside Astoria’s newest luxury condominium development, as buyers today are particularly focused on how their new homes will be used in this (near) post-COVID world. Taking a step back from a purely aspirational approach in design, Mazzarini instead focused on comfort, functionality and clearly defined spaces. The Rowan’s 1-BR and 3BR model apartments are complex yet playful, allowing potential residents to envision the homes as their own.

The $1,995,000 3BR model features formal, yet comfortable and functional living space. The unit’s oversized 8-foot-tall windows overlook the home’s large terrace and surrounding views.

The kitchen and dining area feature a large, custom plaster table with seating for six and the counter with four additional chairs. The positioning of the two areas makes the home feel open.

Designed for two, the children’s room features a big-top ceiling mural and a bright-yellow and white tufted rug.

The second bedroom can be used as a home office for two or a guest bedroom. It has a long, continuous double desk and a mid-century modern day bed.
The unit’s primary bedroom features a woven and wood bed, walnut nightstands, geometric bedside lamps and a mix of graphic art, rugs, and colorful bedding.
The Rowan’s 1 BR model, priced at $725,000, is characterized by a clearly defined layout.
The living space features lush greenery, a tufted grey and white area rug and a large wooden entertainment console that doubles as a bench and storage unit.
