Long Island City’s newest condominium, the ODA New York-designed GALERIE, is now beginning closings and move-ins. The 11-story, 182-residence condominium located at 22-18 Jackson Avenue will unveil three model residences with works on loan from Pace Prints, the publisher of contemporary fine art prints and gallery exhibiting and selling works from contemporary artists from the 1960s to the present. The works can also be acquired.
GALERIE’s façade features three unique architectural styles, so buyers can choose their own vista – be it through curtain wall, window wall, or punched windows. Though many of the residences have already sold, the building still has a select number of studio, one, two- and three-bedroom homes, some of which have outdoor space, available. They range in size from more than 400 square feet to nearly 1,700 square feet and are priced from $690,000 to $2,750,000.
A third-floor three-bedroom residence boasts a Qin Feng limited edition silkscreen print in the living room created by a leading ink painter who represents China’s avant-garde movement and whose work has been included in exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A one-bedroom residence on the fifth floor displays a Santiago Moix hand-painted monoprint with collage in the bedroom. His work is characterized by accumulation and fragmentation, sensuality and an acute sense of form. A fifth-floor two-bedroom residence features a collection of eight limited edition silkscreen prints by Sven Lukin, who has been part of group exhibitions and/or public collections in preeminent museums around the country including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among many others.
All residences feature custom-stained white oak flooring throughout and custom kitchens with precision millwork, Caesarstone countertops, top-tier appliances and a striking island with seating. They will have high-performance heating and cooling systems with individual unit climate controls; laundry closets with a Bosch washer and dryer; and stunning master and secondary baths, as well as a powder room in select homes.
GALERIE’s 13,000 square feet of amenities include an art-filled lobby attended 24/7; full-size (40×13) indoor pool opening onto a landscaped central courtyard designed by Steven Yavanian and featuring a curvilinear sculpture by Allen Glatter; fitness center and movement studio; library with books selected from the MoMA PS1 bookstore; lounge; party room; children’s playroom; pet spa; stroller storage; and expansive rooftop terrace. There is a number of enclosed parking spaces as well as rooftop cabanas available for purchase.
A curated art program for residents and the community has been designed with ArtBox, a permanent street-level rotating art exhibit which will soon be relocated from the sales gallery into the building. Many of the pieces will be available for sale directly through the artists.
Halstead Development Marketing’s The Aguayo Team is handling exclusive marketing and sales, and the sales gallery has just moved onsite.
