Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has once again proven to be a platform for excellence and innovation in the maritime industry, and this year’s Best of Show award goes to Azimut‘s spectacular Grande 36M. Organized by FLIBS in collaboration with Fox Sports, the Best of Show accolade is a testament to Azimut’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, architecture, performance, and technology in the world of luxury yachting.
The Grande 36M emerged victorious among eight finalists, capturing the attention of an independent jury with its groundbreaking features and revolutionary design solutions. One of the key highlights is the semi-walkaround Upper Deck, a pioneering layout that extends seamlessly from the stern to the extreme bow on a single level. This innovative design not only marks a significant departure from conventional yacht layouts but also creates an environment unprecedented in boats of this size.
The Skylounge’s opening windows further elevate the Grande 36M’s appeal, providing an immersive and barrier-free lifestyle experience. The windows disappear completely, transforming the deck into a vast terrace that offers unparalleled views of the horizon. Designed by Alberto Mancini, the exterior lines showcase unmistakable style, while the interior design is curated by Achille Salvagni, adding a touch of sophistication to the superyacht.
A notable feature contributing to the Grande 36M’s success is its integration into Azimut’s Low Emission Yacht family. The high-efficiency D2P® Displacement-to-Planing hull, a result of collaboration between P.L. AUSONIO Naval Architecture and Azimut’s research and development office, ensures optimal performance. Additionally, the extensive use of carbon fiber in the superstructure significantly reduces weight, aligning with the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Azimut’s dedication to environmental responsibility is further emphasized by the yacht’s ability to decrease consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 30% at both fast and slow cruising speeds compared to traditional hard-chine hulls of similar weight and size. This achievement reflects Azimut’s continuous pursuit of eco-friendly solutions without compromising on luxury and performance.
