BMW M has unveiled the latest iteration of its flagship high-performance vehicle, featuring an electrified drivetrain for the first time. Dubbed the BMW XM Label Red, this model showcases the best of BMW’s engineering prowess and design expertise, with bespoke accents that highlight its unparalleled performance capabilities.
The heart of the BMW XM Label Red is its M HYBRID system, which combines a V8 combustion engine with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. The result is a system output of 550 kW/748 hp, with the V8 engine alone producing up to 430 kW/585 hp and the electric motor contributing up to 145 kW/197 hp. This makes the BMW XM Label Red the most powerful BMW M model ever produced, and the leader in the Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé segments.
The car’s exterior features an accent band in Toronto Red metallic (a black accent band also can be specified). The use of red also extends to the model badges and the wheel inserts. The BMW XM Label Red is fitted as standard with 21-inch light-alloy wheels. The surrounds for the BMW M kidney grille and diffuser elements come in Black high-gloss.
The BMW XM Label Red’s black and red color scheme adds a sporty and visually appealing touch to the vehicle’s interior. The black surfaces of the distinctive three-dimensional headliner and body pillars provide a sleek backdrop for the red accents that are strategically placed throughout the cabin. These red accents can be found on the diamond-shaped upper sections of the backrests and integrated head restraints for the driver, front passenger, and outer rear seats, as well as the red contrast stitching on the seats, instrument panel, door trim, and center console. To further emphasize the vehicle’s exclusivity as an M car, the interior of the BMW XM Label Red also features a red “XM” badge below the control display and a Carbon Fibre satin effect interior trim strip with red and blue accent threads. And to truly make this limited-edition variant stand out, customers will find a plaque below the control display that reads “1 of 500”.
The limited edition BMW XM will debut at the Auto Shanghai international motor show from April 18th – April 27th, 2023. Production will begin in August 2023 at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in the USA.
