BRABUS revealed the BRABUS Crawler, an off-road dune racer. Limited to 15 units worldwide, the vehicle has been specially designed for off-road action and isn’t certified for public road use.
The Crawler is built on a bespoke, high-strength steel tube frame with an open, four-seater body made of exposed carbon fibre. It doesn’t have any doors or windows at the front, sides and rear.
The Crawler is equipped with BRABUS Rocket 900 4.5-liter V8 twin turbo displacement engine with specially developed turbochargers producing 900 horsepower. The dune racer is capable of sprinting from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds courtesy of the BRABUS Rocket 900 4.5 liter V8 twin turbo displacement engine producing 662 kW / 900 hp.
The BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with sporty matte black tailpipe trims and actively controlled valves provides the perfect acoustics for conquering the dunes.
The all-new BRABUS Crawler is equipped with 20-inch BRABUS Monoblock HD forged wheels. Innovative manufacturing processes and a signature ‘black and bold’ finish create a unique look as well as maximum strength. Extremely robust BRABUS aluminum struts developed specifically for the racer in combination with a fully adjustable shock absorber ensure a ground clearance of 53 centimeters.
The vehicle features bespoke, full-carbon racing seats to provide support and outstanding comfort for the driver and three passengers. Each seat is wrapped in striking red Silvertex – a high-tech fabric adopted from the BRABUS Marine range of high-performance sports boats.
The BRABUS Crawler is fitted with a state-of-the-art GPS navigation system. Red anodized elements around the interior such as pedals, footrests and the high-quality aluminum GPS unit mounts provide a striking contrast. For communication between the individual crew members, the Crawler features a 2-way communication system that can be used with the dedicated intercoms integrated into the four included BRABUS carbon helmets or other headsets.
The first BRABUS Crawler is finished and available for sale for €891,310 (almost $940,000).
