The luxury fashion house Chanel offers the purse-sized version of its iconic N°5 fragrance that will be available for purchase starting from October 16 in boutiques and select retailers
Chanel will be retailing a special limited edition of its signature Chanel N°5 eau de parfum in 35ml size, ideal for the gifting season. Fifty of a jumbo 900ml version are also available, and these come in crystal bottles, hand-sealed with baudruche film and numbered.
Created to fit easily into a clutch or a bag, Chanel N°5 travel-sized variant will be perfect for any occasion’s on-the-go. Two scents have been chosen for the new 35 ml bottle that is shaped in the original mythical design of Chanel’s N°5 fragrance: the N°5 Eau de Partum and the N°5 Eau Première.
Chanel N°5 Eau de Parfum is a symbol of good taste and is currently one of the best selling perfumes in the world. Coco Chanel asked the perfume designer Ernest Beaux to create a scent “which smells like a woman”. Thus two series of fragrance samples numbered 1-5 and 20-24 were created and Coco Chanel had to choose one of them. Madame Chanel chose the sample no. 5 and thus the perfume got its name. Chanel N°5 is a very complex fragrance, the top notes are composed of aldehydes, bergamot, lemon, neroli and ylang-ylang, the heart of jasmine, rose, lily of the valley and iris, while the base is created of vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and patchouli.
The N°5 Eau Première combines notes of ylang-ylang from the Comoro Islands with May rose and jasmine, with an added dose of aldehydes, vanilla and musk accords. The new versions of Chanel N°5 will be captured in a simple rectangular bottle, representing the classical principle – the less is more. Available as of October 16 in Chanel boutiques and other select retailers, the 35 ml of iconic fragrance will cost $78.
