Johnny Depp, the face of Dior’s new men’s fragrance Sauvage and brand ambassador will be featured in the highly-anticipated video campaign that will celebrate the launch of the new Eau de Toilette
Dior Sauvage launches on September 2, 2015 and will be advertised by Hollywood legend Johnny Depp. The still photo of the 52 year-old star from the shoot shows him in the middle of the desert, however a teaser for Dior’s new fragrance shows Los Angeles by night.
In the 13-second teaser, Depp says in a brooding voice that he “needs to get out of here” but the video fails to actually show the actor onscreen. The film has been shot by French director and photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who wanted to “ break free from urban city chaos.”
Dior states that a highly evocative name of the perfume Sauvage, reflects both the House’s heritage, but also a raw, wild word to herald a unique fragrance. It originates from the fragrance Dior Eau Sauvage from 1966, although the two don’t belong to the same collection. Dior’s first men’s fragrance in 10 years, Sauvage is inspired by wild, open spaces; blue sky that covers rocky landscapes, hot under the desert sun. It’s been revealed that the new fragrance for men was crafted by the house’s storied resident perfumer, Francois Demachy (the man behind Dior Homme and Miss Dior).
Dior Sauvage is announced as radically fresh, and noble at the same time. The composition features meticulously selected natural ingredients. Fresh top notes of Calabria bergamot encounter ambroxan, obtained from precious ambergris, and its woody trail.
