Dolce & Gabbana Abaya Collection is targeted at Muslim customers in the Middle East
The elegant Dolce & Gabbana Abaya Collection was exclusively revealed on Style.com/Arabia. The abaya is a loose outwear or a robe apparel worn by women in some parts of the Muslim world. Honoring the fact that traditional abayas usually come in neutral tints and may be either a large square of fabric draped from the shoulders or head or a long caftan, Dolce & Gabbana Abaya Collection is done in luxe black and sandy beige to satisfy the conservative tastes of Middle Eastern fashion.
Besides featuring some neutral shades, Dolce & Gabbana Abaya Collection relies on sheer georgette and satin weave charmeuse and features many of D&G’s iconic motifs like lush lace and bright floral prints. Referring to the Sicilian ambiance of the brand, abayas appear to feature a lightweight and dramatic drapes with overlays, as well as vibrant daisies, lemons, and red roses that embellish fabric.
Dolce & Gabbana Abaya Collection is the brand’s first attempt to triumph over the Arab fashion. Currently, the $266 billion market of Muslim women is predicted to expand to $484 billion by 2019. Fashion labels like DKNY and Tommy Hilfiger already offered their design of hijab to the conservative Islamic ladies. In July 2014, DKNY launched a Ramadan line styled by designer Tamara al Gabbani and stylist Yalda Golsharifi.
