Expedition Motor Company reveals its 2021 edition of the vintage Wolf G-Wagen restorations with the introduction of the Vesuvio Grey 1990 250GD. The stunning truck features the quietest, smoothest application of an automatic transmission to date ever found in the vintage military-grade Wolf trucks. The automatic-equipped Wolf is a new complementary build option available for clients alongside the company’s popular line of traditional four-speed manual G-Wagen models.
Without a doubt, our new Vesuvio Grey Wolf presents something fresh for fans of the vintage G-Wagen. Our newest build presents the cleanest application of an automatic transmission to the classic Wolf design ever completed. Most of our clients tend to drive our manual Wolf trucks casually around town as well as use them for light trail running and beach combing. The new automatic series of Wolf models from Expedition Motor Company allows for more convenience driving our trucks in city and traffic conditions. The new automatic model also provides a great option for drivers not familiar with driving stick. We’re absolutely thrilled with how this new truck turned out. – Alex Levin, Expedition Motor Company Founder
The Vesuvio Grey 1990 250GD is powered by Expedition Motor Company’s bulletproof 0M602 diesel engine mated to a Mercedes-Benz five-speed 722.6 automatic transmission and original gear-shift lever found in performance-oriented S-Class vehicles. Such pairing creates an incredibly durable powerplant that enhances the vintage military machine by adding an element of comfort for both driver and passenger alike. With this new 250GD Wolf’s automatic transmission, the truck rides much quieter with its five gears and overdrive system. The automatic-equipped Expedition Motor Company Wolf can drive smoothly in fifth gear with minimal shifting or engine noise.
The exterior of the truck is painted in an extremely rare Vesuvio Grey paint colorway. Inside, there are durable dark brown vinyl-covered seats and doors offset with a pop of color in bright orange stitching. The new Expedition Motor Company 250GD is also fitted with a modern HVAC system as well as an upgraded entertainment system with new Bluetooth, USB and device plug-in capabilities.
Expedition Motor Company’s specialists stripped down the vintage truck to create the brand new 250GD Vesuvio Grey Wolf. All-new fuel and brake lines were installed along with fresh body mounts integrated throughout. Factory truck axles were carefully disassembled, media blasted and refinished with new internals. Brake calipers were also re-engineered and further bolstered with new rotors and drums. To improve comfort, Expedition Motor Company also included new upgraded springs and shocks perfectly integrated into the frame of the vintage truck.
The newly restored Vesuvio Grey 1990 250GD is priced at $117,500.00.
