Gucci has unveiled a new campaign for Gucci Sylvie featuring the archive-inspired bag designed by Alessandro Michele. Hollywood actress Faye Dunaway plays a Beverley Hills mother to singer, songwriter and actress Soko in a new film by Petra Collins.
The sun-drenched backdrop of palm-lined avenues and Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive serve as a setting for the new campaign starring award-winning actress Faye Dunaway and SoKo. Faye Dunaway portrays SoKo’s mother in the short film which ends with a gift, the Sylvie bag.
One of Alessandro Michele’s signature designs, the Gucci Sylvie is inspired by a style from the House’s 60s archives and is portrayed in the campaign as an accessory to treasure across generations. A playful mix of House codes, the shoulder bag is decorated with a gold metal chain and buckle that are juxtaposed with contrasting Web stripe details. The signature Gucci shape from the ’60s and ’70s can be mixed-and-matched with different straps and worn in a number of ways. The structured silhouette comes with two straps: one leather shoulder strap and one grosgrain ribbon that converts from top handle to shoulder. For an additional way to wear it, a coordinating leather crossbody strap was specially designed and is available separately.
