The new limited-edition Ferrari LaFerrari Spider was created for clients who “refuse to compromise on the joy of drop-top driving even when at the wheel of a supercar.” The special series will be available with a removable carbon-fiber hard top and a removable soft top.
The Ferrari LaFerrari debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and became the star of the event. It was the fastest road-legal supercar and also the first Ferrari to carry a hybrid powertrain. The new limited edition LaFerrari Spider will have the same running gear and performance figures as the original LaFerrari, sporting a 800 cv V12 ICE (with a specific power output of 128 cv/l) coupled with a 120 kW electric motor (163 cv), unleashing 963 cv in total.
Though the company calls its new LaFerrari “Spider”, the official name and technical characteristics of the vehicle will be announced at the Paris International Motor Show as will the number Ferrari proposes to build. Previous reports have indicated that the topless LaFerrari will be restricted to just 70 units. What we do know is that all available examples have already been sold after a special preview to clients and the supercar is no longer available for order.
