The real estate developer Lightstone is unveiling the first look at completed interiors of 130 William, Sir David Adjaye’s 800-foot tall residential building in Manhattan. The award-winning Ghanaian-British architect is responsible for the holistic vision of the 66-story skyscraper, including its iconic exterior architecture, as well as all of the building’s luxurious interiors.
In defining the design for 130 William I not only sought to celebrate New York City’s heritage of masonry architecture, referencing the historical architecture once pervasive upon one of the city’s earliest streets. However, and more importantly, 130 William has been crafted to focus on the new possibilities of urban, vertical living. – Sir David Adjaye, Principal Adjaye Associates
Sir David Adjaye and his team turned to New York’s rich architectural heritage for design references. 130 William’s custom hand-cast façade is a modern take on the stonework that distinguished classic Manhattan architecture. The unique silhouette of rhythmic large-scale arched windows is inspired by the lofts that once dominated the area.
The tower will feature 242 residences, ranging in size from studio residences to up to four bedrooms. Each home boasts airy interiors framed by oversized bronze arched windows. Sir David Adjaye custom designed all the fixtures and hardware throughout the residences in a beautiful, burnished bronze finish.

In the master bedroom, a luxurious upholstered platform king-size bed with a 96” headboard faces a wall-mounted console with gold leaf sliding doors. There is also a curved low lounge chair by Pierre Frey, upholstered in Holly Hunt royal alpaca and walnut legs.
