Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown unveiled six new specialty suites designed by the acclaimed interior architect Bill Rooney and his team at Bill Rooney Studio, Inc. These suites, including Metropolis, Tribeca, and The Gotham Collection, are more than just accommodations; they are immersive experiences that capture the spirit and essence of Downtown New York.
Thomas Carreras, the General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, emphasized the importance of embracing Tribeca’s lifestyle in the suite designs. “As we designed our new suites, it was important for us to embrace the lifestyle of our neighborhood to carefully embody the essence of its rich heritage, culture, and architectural uniqueness,” Carreras stated.
Bill Rooney, in one of his final interior masterpieces, aimed to honor the historic roots of Tribeca while providing a luxurious and residential living experience. Each suite boasts a unique blueprint, thoughtfully designed with custom and handpicked décor that transports guests into an authentic New York lifestyle.
The fusion of classic and contemporary design elements is evident throughout the suites. Mid-century modern inspired furniture, including a mesmerizing mahogany polyhedron-shaped bar cabinet from France, creates an intimate aesthetic that feels more like a residence than a hotel room. Local artisans were tapped to curate rich textures, colors, and finishes, resulting in a harmonious blend of old and new New York.
“No detail within the suites is left untouched,” says Carreras. Every element reflects the essence of a true New Yorker’s apartment, from the modern art collection featuring renowned artists to retro wooden games and a curated Taschen library.
What sets these suites apart is the attention to the guest experience. The hotel has introduced new wellness rituals to provide guests with a serene haven after a busy day exploring the city. Essential Fitness includes meditation cushions and yoga mats, while the Ceremonial Soak Experience features bath salts and affirmation cards for a truly immersive relaxation experience. Guests can also relive their day or set intentions with the Five Minute Meditation Journal.
The Metropolis and Tribeca suites offer an added touch of nostalgia with classic record players and epic record collections from iconic New York musicians. It’s a nod to the city’s musical heritage, inviting guests to enjoy the tunes as they get ready or unwind with a glass of champagne.
