French fashion house Dior has launched a Dior Eyes headset enabling the wearer exclusive backstage access to ready-to-wear fashion shows
The luxury fashion brand Dior grants fashionistas around the globe virtual backstage access to the shows of the French label with the help of its exclusive Dior Eyes Headset. The 3D printed virtual reality headset provides the most immersive VR experience ever seen, as well as a unique 360° performance all created in an advanced design.
The ‘Dior Eyes’ headset is a key development as part of the trend for fun and innovative “retailtainment” strategy. Dior widens once more the gap in the digital innovation field.
The 3D printed, virtual reality Dior Eyes gadget aids to view the behind-the-scenes events at a real-time Dior show, from off-set using the VR headsets, while models get ready hit the runway. The idea for an exceptional headset appeared out of desire to increase customer interaction with Dior. The experience of Dior’s client experience is of vital importance for the fashion brand. Customers don’t want reasons to buy products, they want true bonds. That’s the reason why Dior enables them a chance of the physical sensation of living the Dior show backstage.
Developed by the French design company DigitasLBi LABS, Dior Eyes Headset relies on a combination of a Galaxy Note 4, Samsung’s Gear VR technology and a 3D printed headset. Once activated, it provides an excellent visual experience, with a pixel density of 515 ppi and a 100-degree field of view as well as high quality audio.
Dior Eyes will be available to the public in Dior boutiques worldwide starting from June 2015.
