Luxurious travels are fun and exciting to a point in which you’re no longer feeling the thrill of exotic foods, expensive drinks, and impeccable service. All those 5-star hotels made of brick and mortar become boring once you get used to the scene. It is kind of artificial, like a facade of glamour, while underneath, there is nothing special. It has no depth constantly going to vacations in luxurious hotels in some of the most overrated places in the world. If you’re feeling similar, you might be looking for something else. Many wealthy people worldwide are also looking for different kinds of adventures and experiences that will give them something else than the old boring hotel stuff. This is why we see people diving in the deep sea, flying to space, and many other things. If you’re not into extremes, you will love the idea of traveling to nature, camping, and enjoying tourism as you never thought you’d like. This is called glamping.
What is glamping?
If you have never heard of this term, don’t worry, as it was coined recently. This relatively new word is a combination of the words glamorous and camping. If you get excited about this idea, wait until you see what glamping really is.
Glamping is glamorous camping, or better said, camping for people who want the luxury and the benefits of nature, but are not into the cons of staying in nature under the open sky. If you have ever been camping, and realized it is not for you, the bugs, the lack of technology, and the uncomfortable sleeping solutions were probably the things you didn’t like the most.
In a glamping setup, you’ll be enjoying walks through nature, staggering views, travel with experienced guides, eating and drinking fresh supplies provided by nature, and many other things, while also enjoying modern tents or specialized vehicles, equipped with everything you need.
How to glamp?
Glamping has many variations. Some people are setting tents in designated spots in nature where the view is spectacular, but equipping them with all the amenities and devices needed for a comfortable and glamorous stay. From an AC and a fridge to a big-screen TV connected to the internet to a king-size bed.
Others will opt for a caravan vehicle in which everything’s brand new and functional. They won’t sleep in tents but in extended bedrooms with all the amenities they enjoy at home. Some will revamp their UTEs or trucks and add an oversized 1400mm canopy over the rear tray, fill it up with everything they need, and head to their favorite spot in nature.
So, why not just go to a hotel if all of this is required for a glamping experience? What’s the difference between this and an ordinary hotel? There are many differences, and we’ll only mention a few of them.
What’s the difference between glamping, camping, and a hotel stay?
Although it would take too much time to go through everything, we’ll try to show a few differences. A hotel stay will give you a room with windows overlooking an area, but in glamping, you get to stay in a tent that can provide a view of the universe above you. It’s an unmatched sight that very few hotels can provide.
On top of it, you will never experience the view of the sky from a hotel as you would from a tent in nature due to the light pollution present at sites where hotels are. Campers also experience this, which is why they always claim that hotels may be with five stars, but tents have all the stars visible in the sky.
What makes glamping a perfect match? Campers will usually struggle with comfort. They are used to sleeping in sleeping bags, on the ground, and in uncomfortable circumstances, but glamping is the opposite of this. Glamping means enjoying all the benefits of camping – sleeping in king-size beds, enjoying the perfect temperature inside the tent or the vehicle, and much more.
How to know if glamping is for you?
It’s not tough to understand if glamping is for you. If you love hotels and the comfort they provide, but you also love to see nature and enjoy its beauty, then you’re bound to experience glamping at least once.
If you’re thinking about going to a place for your vacation, but you’re bored with the same old hotel service, this is the perfect idea for you. Find an exotic place, talk to some tourist agencies organizing such trips, and aim to learn about new places, foods, and cultures.
An adventure of this kind will change your perspectives and views on the world. It will show you how different life is from what you’re used to, and help you enjoy nature to the fullest, without feeling the discomfort of an ordinary camping trip.
