Gucci has anveiled its annual holiday campaign. Gucci Gift for 2021 is centered around the concept of a mixtape – a relic of a past analog era that evoked a sense of creativity, care, and love. It is the starting point of a journey into four distinctive worlds.
The first chapter is The Hacker Project, sees a combination of the iconic silhouettes and codes of Balenciaga and Gucci in unique creations as an exploration of ideas of authenticity and appropriation within the fashion industry. London-born photographer and director Harley Weir photographed models showcasing styles that are decorated with a new jumbo execution of the House’s monogram.
Second up are horse racing motifs. The omnipresence of equestrian inspiration in the collection is a homage to House’s heritage. The selection was shot by a Shanghai-based photographer Leslie Zhang in a vivid and dynamic film and images that capture the vibrant energy of the pieces.
The next chapter of the Gucci Gift for 2021 campaign is captured by Hanna Moon, a photographer and the founder of A Nice Magazine.
Inspired by the festivity of the last night of the year, the spotlight is shone on some of the most spectacular elements from Aria including crystal-embellished anatomical heart clutches and new jewelry statements.
The last chapter of the campaign, lensed by British-Canadian photographer Lorena Lohr, showcases items from the House’s recently launched Lifestyle collection alongside pieces from Gucci Décor in an exploration of gifting elements for the home.
