The iconic H. Moser & Cie.‘s Pioneer collection expands to new terrains with two vibrant Arctic Blue models in 40mm cases – an all-new size for the collection. The new Pioneer Centre Seconds Arctic Blue and Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue are ready for both land and sea with 12 ATM water resistance. The three-hand model is fitted with the H. Moser & Cie. HMC 200 automatic calibre, while the more complicated watch is equipped with the HMC 804 Manufacture movement with flying tourbillon featuring a double hairspring.
The impressive “Arctic Blue” dials of these two timepieces feature the brand logo at 12 o’clock. The steel case of the Pioneer Centre Seconds and Pioneer Tourbillon, previously released with a diameter of 42.8 mm, is now available in a 40 mm version. In addition to their faceted applique indices topped with Super-LumiNova® dots, these models have leaf-shaped hands which are also filled with Super-LumiNova®.
The Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue features the HMC 804 automatic Manufacture calibre that has been produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie.’s sister company, Precision Engineering AG. This calibre is equipped with a double hairspring. Thanks to this pair of perfectly matched hairsprings, the movement of the point of gravity on each spring when it expands is corrected, significantly improving accuracy and isochronism in continual pursuit of perfection. The paired hairsprings also reduce the effect of friction normally experienced with a single hairspring, improving isochronism. The tourbillon is an interchangeable module, assembled and regulated independently of the movement with the help of a Plug & Play system which allows for easy servicing.
The Pioneer Centre Seconds Arctic Blue is equipped with an HMC 200 automatic movement. Designed, developed and produced in-house, this calibre is fitted with a regulating organ, also manufactured in-house. Decorated with the famous Moser double stripes on the bridges and the main plate, housing a large engraved oscillating weight, and offering a guaranteed minimum power reserve of three days, the HMC 200 calibre is 100% Swiss, 100% Moser.
The Pioneer Centre Seconds Arctic Blue costs $14,200 USD, while the Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue is available for $54,900 USD. Both models can be matched with a rubber, textile or leather strap, or a steel bracelet.
