After the extensive sea trials on the North Sea, Heesen Yachts announced the delivery of YN 18250 White. A 50 metres semi-displacement motor yacht with a Gross Tonnage just below the 500GT threshold is the latest in the award-winning 5000 Aluminium class. The exterior lines of the yacht were created by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, while Cristiano Gatto was responsible for the interior design.
YN 18250 White underwent extensive sea trials that took place on the North Sea in good weather conditions, with waves up to half a metre. The yacht was very responsive during her sea trials, reacting to steering commands instantaneously thanks to the large rudders in conjunction with the power steering unit. Her powerful bow thruster and the propellers optimized for her speed range, allow the vessel to be manoeuvered with confidence in close quarters even in windy conditions.
White is powered by two high power-to-weight ratio MTU 2,880kW engines. The maximum contractual speed of 23 knots was largely exceeded, while at the same time vibration tests proved that the yachts is extremely quiet. At a cruising speed of 11 knots, she has a transatlantic range of 3,100 nautical miles.
The main saloon and sky lounge feature bespoke pieces of furniture, which are both exquisite and highly distinctive additions to White’s interior. From a versatile round coffee table in glossy ebony, stainless steel and leather, the custom-designed sofas with Loro Piana upholstery has armrests that encompass bookshelves to fabrics from Hermès that have been used for the decoration, everything about the yacht oozes style and sophistication. Refined detailing and a neutral palette that spans from white to brown passing through all hues of beige, hazel, and caramel, create highly sophisticated environments. Glossy ebony and Canaletto walnut surfaces have been used throughout the yacht.
A sister ship of White – YN 18750 Project Aster – is currently under construction at the shipyard in Oss and is available for delivery on June 30, 2019.
