At its facility in Oss, a Dutch shipyard Heesen has launched YN19550 Project Altea – the second yacht built on the Nova Plus design and engineering platform. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects designed her contemporary exterior profile, with its long waterline, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a purposeful profile that features a gently reversed stem and chunky spray rails. The 50-meter all-aluminum yacht has a Fast Displacement Hull Form and comes in at just under the 500GT threshold.
The yacht’s high-end interior design was penned by Cristiano Gatto. A serene interior will allow the new owners to select refined and modern pieces to create a rich and sophisticated atmosphere that matches their lifestyle.
Altea is equipped with two 1,080kW (1,448hp) MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines that will propel her at a top speed of 19.5 knots and a cruising range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots. This fast yet highly efficient performance is the result of her FDHF hull design, with its 2.15-metre draught, and ensures that she will be one of the fastest and most economical motor yachts in her class.
Six elegant staterooms will accommodate up to twelve guests, who will enjoy a total of almost 350 square metres of interior space, while five cabins are provided for a crew complement of nine.
After the system’s commissioning, the yacht will undergo intensive tests in the North Sea at the beginning of May. Altea is available for delivery in June 2021.
