As part of its centennial celebrations, Gucci has joined creative forces with Mattel Creations to produce its first Hot Wheels collectible: a replica of Gucci Cadillac Seville. Paying homage to this special collaboration, three talented artists including illustrator H3C and photographers Duane Shoots Toys and Felix Hernandez Dreamphography, created works featuring the Hot Wheels x Gucci Cadillac Seville.
Produced starting in the ‘70s, the Cadillac Seville designed by Gucci featured an elegant leather trim and a beige vinyl cover with a Gucci pattern which extended over the C-pillar. The Gucci logo with two interlocking Gs created a hood ornament on the hood. The famous logo was also used on the wheels, while the lower edge of the boot was garnished with a red-green stripe – the traditional colors of the Italian fashion brand. The car was designed by Dr. Aldo Gucci, one of three sons of founder Guccio Gucci.
The Hot Wheels 1:64 scale vehicle is housed in an acrylic display with an authentic Gucci box and slipcover. The car features a die-cast metal body and chassis with Real Riders™ rubber tires and is finished with exquisite detail authentic to the full-scale Seville by Gucci.
Debuting in the Gucci 100 campaign, only 5,000 pieces of this limited-edition miniature version of the ’82 model are available worldwide. The limited-edition collectible car can be purchased on Gucci’s website and in selected Gucci stores.
