Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort comes back into full swing this season with new enhanced offerings for guests. From a photography exhibition by the world-famous photographer for Contour Getty, Riccardo Ghilardi, to a series of programmed events at the hotel for Venice Fashion week – there is so much to do.
Located on the beautiful Lido Island, the only island in Venice accessible by car, Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort features 196 chic guestrooms including 8 junior suites and 15 suites. The hotel delivers a full range of services created to serve the needs of guests.
From the start of the International Film Festival (31st of August) until October 23rd, the resort will be hosting a photography exhibition titled ‘Three Minutes at the Excelsior’ by Riccardo Ghilardi. Three minutes are needed for the portrait photographer to capture an image of a celebrity in the midst of a film festival such as Venice, and at award ceremonies like the Oscars.
To celebrate traditional Venetian craftmanship and century-old traditions, the resort has partnered with local artisans to invite hotel guests to experience the age-old techniques and processes used to make Venetian products. Guests can take part in a series of workshops, and learn how to make traditional Burano lace with Martina Vidal, jewelry with Valeria Boncompagni and Murano glass with Perlamadredesign, or visit the working studios of Seguso (Murano glass), Lunardelli Venezia (woodwork) and Berta Battiloro (goldbeating) to witness world-famous, local craftspeople in action. The craftsmen workshops and experiences can be arranged by the hotel concierge upon request.
With Venice Fashion Week taking place on the 14th and 28th of July, Hotel Excelsior will be hosting a series of programmed events throughout June and July, including fashion shows and talks with famous and emerging designers such as Martina Vidal and Luigi Bevilacqua.
The island location of the hotel provides guests access to various wellness services and activities including tennis courts, a spacious state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool, golf, a riding school, and bicycle lanes to cruise around the Lido on. The resort also offers windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, and diving experiences. The sports academy and its world-class champions will also be on offer for guests of all ages looking to perfect their skills. This summer’s academies include yoga with Lorenza Minola (June), tennis with Karel Nováček (July) and calisthenics with Jury Chechi (August).
Hotel Excelsior’s guests will be able to enjoy Michelin-starred food from acclaimed chef Nino Di Costanzo. The Chef will create a diverse tasting menu, combining the unique flavors of Campania with locally sourced produce and catches of the day. The resort also has announced a new Executive Chef, Alessandro Ramella – an apprentice of Gualtiero Marchesi who is widely considered the founder of new Italian gastronomy.
For guests staying in one of the six Premium Suites, the resort provides a dedicated ‘Suite Ambassador’ – a private butler, who can assist with tasks ranging from booking private excursions in Venice to organizing restaurant bookings, shopping, laundry, wellness treatments, transfers and more.
