The towering 30-story building 111 Varick has launched leasing and is expected to welcome its first residents before the end of the year. Located in Hudson Square on the western edge of SoHo, a neighborhood that is being transformed into a 24-7 live-work area thanks to a wave of new residential construction and major corporate headquarters currently being built by Google and Disney, the building will offer 100 highly detailed rental apartments with unobstructed skyline and Hudson River views.
Designed by S9 Architecture, the cutting-edge New York-based firm known for blending the industrial and the modern at projects such as Industry City, Empire Stores, DUMBO’s 205 Water Street and Dock72 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, 111 Varick stylishly reinterprets the industrial aesthetic and classic loft architecture of Hudson Square.
The interiors are designed by Chris Shao Studio. Chris Shao, a rising interior designer who was featured in Architectural Digest while still in design school, is currently tackling high-end hospitality and residential projects around the world while still just in his 20s. Available studio, one bedroom and two-bedroom luxury homes are furnished with solar shades, elegant flooring, Bosch stacked washer and dryer, Latch smart-lock system, and a Nest smart thermostat. Residents will enjoy unobstructed views of the Hudson River and beyond, as well as dramatic vistas of Downtown and Midtown Manhattan.
111 Varick is pursuing LEED Silver certification, employing both active and passive systems at a whole-building level and for the individual residences. With a focus on technology and smart living, the building features a cutting-edge automated parking system, electric car charging station and other connected features.
Residents will enjoy access to a robust amenities and services package that includes an expansive landscaped rooftop terrace with barbecue, open-air movie theater.
