iBubble is the first autonomous drone camera that follows the diver and captures beautiful footage in high definition, hands-free
iBubble is the result of work of diver Kevin Delfour and tech enthusiast Xavier Spengler who were trying to find a way to create quality submarine videos with minimal equipment. The pair turned to Startup Maker to create an autonomous camera that was able to follow and film divers underwater. iBubble is currently being offered for pre-sales on IndieGogo for $1,899.
Having raised more than $203,499 via 15,000-plus supporters, the iBubble team is on its way to engineering, development and final product delivery in the Summer of 2017. The hydrodynamic design of the first autonomous drone camera allows it to travel well underwater, withstanding currents of up to 3 knots. With a maximum depth of 60 meters, the divers will be able to take the $2,199 iBubble + GoPro pack pretty far, the device can stray up to 25 meters away from them.
Moreover, to make sure the footage is perfectly steady despite sudden movements or currents, the iBubble designers have integrated a camera stabilization system and added two 1000 lumen lights to increase image quality.
The underwater drone follows the divers via a connected bracelet which allows to switch between features like, Follow me, 360° selfie, zoom in, zoom out and several filming mode. For instant 2D or 3D video capability, it can be connected to camera which comes to life when the drone touches the water and withstands depths of up to 230ft.
