Monaco-based brand Wally Yachts has developed a new cruiser-racer Wally 93 that will stand out for her performance as well as her appeal. Developed for an existing Wally owner who is a keen racing yachtsman, the new design is streamlined for the Wally Class racing circuit, that is the most competitive racing in high performance cruising yachts in the Mediterranean.[justified_image_grid preset=18 ids=74961,74962,74963,74964,74965,74971 caption=off]
The new generation cruiser-racer features the proven Wally hallmarks and the Judel Vrolijk naval architecture and boasts the latest hull lines with the distinctive large stern and big interior volumes. The new custom superyacht offers superfast and comfortable experience in high performance sailing. The ultralight Wally 93 has a displacement of only 35,5 tons that allow for a more powerful sail area/displacement ratio. The weights are centred amidships to minimize the pitching. The lifting keel provides for the draft to extend from 4,5 to 6,2 meters to increase the righting moment in the broad reach and the lift upwind. The yacht will have the ability to start surfing with 16 knots of wind, and easily capable to exceed the true wind speed.
The deck of the Wally 93 is ultra-clean with huge living areas unobstructed from any maneuver. The private salon is separated from the access to downbelow: the companionway leads to the passageway of the crew and guest cabins and to the galley area. The owners area is located forward the salon, while the two guest cabins are aft.[justified_image_grid preset=18 ids=74966,74967,74969 caption=off]
Scheduled to be launched in the summer 2018, the new Wally 93 is currently under construction using the most advanced composite technology, to provide for the super reduced displacement and increased rigidity. Set to debut at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2018, she is built of high modulus unidirectional carbon fiber, and CNC female carbon fiber mould.
