In the automotive world, some vehicles transcend time and become icons that embody the spirit of their creators. Such is the case with the BRABUS 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition, a one-of-a-kind super roadster that pays homage to a legendary moment in BRABUS history. With only 25 units available worldwide, this modern retelling of the classic BRABUS design captures the essence of its founder, Bodo Buschmann, and showcases the brand’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and performance.
In 1996, the BRABUS 7.3S, based on the Mercedes-Benz 600 SL, made its debut on the German Autobahn for its inaugural road test. Behind the wheel was Bodo Buschmann himself, the visionary founder of BRABUS. As the crew captured the momentous occasion, they immortalized one of the most iconic shots in BRABUS history. Now, that legendary day lives on through the BRABUS 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition.
The BRABUS 750 is built upon the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 platform, blending timeless elegance with contemporary engineering. At the front, the roadster boasts distinctive BRABUS-typical carbon elements, including front fascia inserts, a radiator grill, and a front spoiler that not only adds to its unmistakable look but also reduces lift at high speeds. Carbon fiber front fender attachments with integrated BRABUS logos adorn the sides, while the rear features a subtle carbon fiber rear spoiler and a custom-designed rear diffuser, perfectly accentuating the quad tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system.
Under the hood, the BRABUS 750 packs a punch. Equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 engine fitted with two BRABUS high-performance turbochargers, this two-door super-roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 3.3 seconds. To protect the performance tires, its top speed is electronically limited to 315 km/h. The lightning-fast torque delivery of 900 Nm is effortlessly controlled by a nine-speed automatic transmission, offering seamless shifting and paddle shifters for manual control.
The BRABUS 750 “Bodo Buschmann Edition” draws inspiration from the iconic late-eighties styling of the original BRABUS Monoblock II. The roadster proudly rolls on 21- and 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock II Evo “Platinum Edition” forged wheels, perfectly complementing its powerful presence. Remaining true to the BRABUS design DNA, the vehicle is adorned in an all-black signature color scheme, paying homage to Bodo Buschmann’s personal taste in cars and highlighting the brand’s everlasting elegance.
Stepping inside the BRABUS 750, one is greeted by a meticulously crafted interior that harmonizes with the vehicle’s external aesthetics. Black-on-black dominates the cabin, creating an atmosphere of refined luxury. The exquisite “R-Sport” quilting pattern, accentuated by matching black stitching and piping, provides a subtle yet tasteful touch. As a nod to the year BRABUS was founded, the cockpit features the “Heritage” brand pattern embossed with “77” signets on the seat side bolsters, the sides of the center console, and the sun visors.
