The $9,500 Vertu Aster Leaf is created in collaboration with a leather artist Carina Sohl and unifies the forces of nature with technology
Carina Sohl, a Swedish leather designer, produces luxury hand embossed leather with an incredible fineness. A British manufacturer and retailer of handmade mobile phones Vertu certainly knows a thing or two about luxury and has tapped the leather artist to contribute to design of its lavish Vertu Aster Leaf.
Limited to only 100 units, the Vertu Aster Leaf is the latest addition to the Aster range. Unique phone features beautiful wild raspberry leaves embossed on to soft aniline leather, which is used in the Vertu range for the first time.
High quality and soft to the touch, it is one of the most natural looking leathers available, and is enhanced further for Aster Leaf by the beautiful craftsmanship of Carina Sohl.
The process of creating aniline leather with embossed floral pattern starts with handpicking the wild natural plants and selecting the best leaves to work. These are then pressed with several pieces of leather for eight hours on a large press. Following this, the leaves are carefully removed, leaving the pattern of their small delicate intertwining veins embossed into the leather. During this part of the process the leaves are destroyed, ensuring your Vertu will be completely unique.
The phone features Vertu’s full portfolio of services, Dolby® Digital Plus virtual surround sound and Hasselblad certified imaging. It offers high-speed data through GSM, 3G and LTE 4G. This allows its users to have really fast internet connection on their Vertu phones. The Aster Leaf offers six months of complimentary internet access. It also gives its users incredible sound experience with its hands free speaker.
