Vivari Hotel and Spa by Mantis, located in a leafy valley in Featherbrooke, Johannesburg, reopens. The hotel operated briefly in 2020 and closed temporarily due to in-country lockdown restrictions. The spa resumed service when local operating restrictions were lifted, catering to the inbound tourism market. Now both, the hotel and the spa are ready to welcome international guests.
The hotel features numerous stone paths and walkways that inspire guests to lose themselves in the natural surroundings; among enormous pecan and cycad trees and manicured lawns dotted with water features. As the hotel encourages free movement of small animals, guests might even catch a glimpse of exotic wild birds or even a tortoise.
Vivari Hotel and Spa by Mantis features 48 rooms and suites (including the presidential Crown Suite). Set within lush gardens, the rooms feature soft and textured fabrics, natural woods, leather and marble with accents of steel and copper.
The hotel’s spa includes eight treatment rooms, four of which have their own private bamboo garden. All spa and hotel guests have full access to the hydrotherapy suite, which includes a steam room, an ice fountain, a heated vitality pool and an infrared sauna cabin for relaxation and recovery.
Guests also have access to a swimming pool, yoga studio and gym. Vivari offers an integrated approach to wellness incorporating five elements: holistic health, nutrition, fitness, spa and aesthetic beauty. Relaxation and rejuvenating treatments range from classic body rituals (including hot stone and Swedish massage) to signature rituals that focus on the deep interconnection between the mind and body.
Guests can dine at Brambles Restaurant which serves seasonal menus with ethically sourced produce. The Pécan Pool Bar offers fresh salads, wholesome sandwiches and hand-stretched pizzas straight from its clay pizza oven. There is also the rooftop bar where guests can enjoy a selection of classic and signature cocktails alongside specialty beers and other beverages.
Vivari Hotel and Spa by Mantis is close to some of Johannesburg’s best cultural landmarks and attractions including the Cradle of Humankind, The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens
