Following the launch of Whyle, a new real estate brand designed to offer an alternative to traditional rental living, Method Co., a top real estate management, development, and design company, and JBG SMITH, a developer of high-quality, mixed-use properties in Washington, DC, announced the official opening of the first location of the brand. Its high-styled furnished apartments can be booked for as little as 30 days or for years long.
Located in the U-Street Corridor of the Shaw neighborhood, Whyle U-Street is an industrial-style development featuring two towers designed by New York-based Morris Adjmi Architects. Drawing inspiration from the building’s aluminum façade and factory-style windows, 95 one and two-bedroom apartments are characterized by stylistically minimal designs and are furnished with a mix of custom new pieces, collected vintage and classic modern designs, including contemporary and custom-designed furnishings from Ercol and GUBI. The interiors are decorated with handpicked artwork selected by LUMAS Gallery and feature antique elements such as vintage Turkish rugs, and high-design lighting from Workstead and Marset. Full-sized kitchens are outfitted with modern European upscale integrated appliances. All apartments include smart TVs and Bosch washer and dryers.
Whyle also offers a wide variety of amenities and services. There is a rooftop lounge and pool, a world-class fitness center complete with top-of-the-line TechnoGym equipment, Peloton bikes, and a yoga studio. Additional services include housekeeping, onsite parking and a variety of additional signature services, including a bike share program, an artisanal coffee program with La Colombe, a 24-hour concierge and recurring resident receptions in partnership with local vendors.
Whyle is located conveniently in the historic Shaw District, near various public transportation options and just minutes from downtown and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The area boasts trendy restaurants, locally-owned boutiques, and a lively bar scene.
