The next generation of the V12 Lamborghini flagship is incarnated in the new Lamborghini Aventador S Coupé, designated by progressive aerodynamic design, redeveloped suspension, enhanced power and advanced driving dynamics. Gaining “S”, the suffix of previous enhanced Lamborghini models, the coupé defines a new benchmark for the naturally aspirated twelve cylinder engine that pumps out an additional 40 hp over its predecessor, to a maximum 740 hp, with a 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is achieved in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.
Aventador S Coupé represents the unmistakable Lamborghini DNA, while strengthening its mix of dynamism, refinement, and aggressiveness by means of even sharper lines inspired by nature and by aeronautics. A powerful nose and longer front splitter redirect airflow for better aerodynamic efficiency, improved engine cooling and increased cooling to the radiators. Two air ducts in the side of the front bumper reduce aerodynamic interference from the front tires and optimize wake flow to the rear radiator. The active rear wing, which is movable in three positions depending on speed and drive select mode, optimizes the car’s improved overall balance.
For perfect, safe, and compelling performance, Aventador S Coupé is endowed with the advanced Lamborghini Active Vehicle Dynamics (LDVA) control unit, a system of active technologies that can manage each of the dynamic axles of the vehicle. The lateral vehicle dynamics is controlled by a steering system that involves all four wheels using Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) and Lamborghini Rear-wheel Steering (LRS). The vertical vehicle dynamics is handled by the Lamborghini Magneto-rheological suspension (LMS) and the active rear aerodynamics. And the longitudinal dynamics relies on the four-wheel drive system (4WD). The LDVA system combines all the information coming from the car’s sensors and establishes in real time the best setting for each driving condition.
The Aventador S allows the driver to select between four different driving modes: STRADA (maximum comfort and daily use), SPORT ( a sporty, rear-wheel drive feel), CORSA (maximum track performance) and the new EGO mode (customizable by the driver). The Aventador S sits on a new, specially developed set of Pirelli P Zero tires.
The super sports car with cutting-edge technology also boasts a lavish interior, the specification of which is virtually limitless through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program. It offers an infinite variety of possibilities, like the new S-trim configuration or Carbon Skin. The refined interior is paired with the extremely advanced technology, such as the instrument panel with interactive TFT LCD display with completely redesigned graphics, and the possibility to enhance the interiors with a LED lighting system created ad hoc.
The first customers will be able to take delivery of the new Lamborghini Aventador S in Spring 2017 and it will set them back $421,350.
