Launching during Watches & Wonders, the new Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Tiger’s Eye answers a very important question: if H. Moser & Cie. was a stone, which would it be? The answer comes in the unique hues of Ox’s Eye and Falcon’s Eye, two semi-precious stones from the Tiger’s Eye family. The dial of the new watch, which gives the stone a blank canvas to express its aesthetic power, is further enhanced by the lack of HMC logo – the brand’s signature Concept dials that further emphasize that “less is Moser”.
Tiger’s Eye is a semi-precious stone that is formed of amosite, the fibers of which are partially substituted with silica following a natural transformation process known as “pseudo morphosis”. Laid down in fine layers, these fibers create the iridescent effects of the stone. Tiger’s Eye comes in many colors: the blue variety of the stone is known as Falcon’s Eye, while a red-hued stone is called Ox’s Eye.
Tiger’s Eye is a natural reinterpretation of Moser fumé dials, which have been a key part of the brand’s success. Its horizontal lines lend it balance and symmetry. It is a dynamic stone which seems to come to life as it catches the light. The richness of its details are revealed gradually; it must be admired from different angles to fully appreciate its beauty. Just like a Moser timepiece. With the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Tiger’s Eye model, we wanted to enhance the brilliance of the Tiger’s Eye using a highly contemporary approach. The 1970s has been a great source of inspiration for us in terms of design and aesthetic trends. Tiger’s Eye was very popular at this time, and it was showcased in a number of timepieces, with a look that was quite Baroque or Rococo in style. We have opted for a contrasting interpretation, minimalist and understated, with a Tiger’s Eye dial featuring no logo or indices, adorned with only the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. – Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie.
The Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Tiger’s Eye watch is available in two editions – white gold and Falcon’s Eye or red gold and Ox’s Eye. Only 50 examples of each will be produced due to the difficulty in sourcing stones.
The watch is powered by the calibre HMC 804 movement that features a double flat hairspring designed and produced in-house.
Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Tiger’s Eye is priced at $75,900 (both) and is available now via authorized retailers and on H. Moser’s ecomm page.
