Louis Vuitton and Maison TAMBOITE, a manufacturer of exclusive French bicycles, have joined forces to create a luxurious bike. In a continuum of the Art of Travel, the Louis Vuitton Bike is perfect for a city adventure or a countryside exploration. It features signatures of the Maison, including a Monogram flower chainset and an interlocking “LV” shaped frame.
Each Louis Vuitton Bike is crafted by hand and assembled in the historic Maison Tamboite workshop in central Paris. Remarkable attention to detail is on display, from the cranksets shaped like Monogram Flowers, to the LV Initiales on the pedals. The functional luggage rack is adjusted with an elastic belt. Other distinctive features include wooden mudguards, discrete LED lights, an added built-in tracker, and shock absorbers strategically positioned underneath the seat.
Maison Tamboite is a century-old bike maker that is considered to be a symbol of French craftsmanship and elegance. The brand’s hand-made bicycles were favored by famous 20th-century Parisians such as Josephine Baker, Maurice Chevalier, and Edith Piaf. The brand produces a mix of track bikes and Parisian porteurs, entirely tailor-made to each individual. Maison Tamboite master craftsman, Hugo Canivenc needs the rider’s measurements (height, inseam, shoulder, and even shoe size) to create a computerized model of the personalized bike.
Offered in multiple variations on a made-to-order basis, the ultra-luxurious Louis Vuitton Bike offers a step-through or closed frame with a two-speed drivetrain. The bike will set you back $28,900.
