Louis Vuitton presents the contemporary take on the iconic Alma bag. The new Alma BB is offered in five new eye-popping colors for spring. The bag is embellished with an embroidered jacquard strap to match, featuring Monogram flowers on one side and the Louis Vuitton logo on the other. Made from colorful Epi leather, the $2,180 bag will definitely turn heads.
Photographed and directed by Steven Meisel, the campaign is fronted by Rianne Von Rompaey, Sacha Quenby, Sora Choi and Vittoria Ceretti. The images showcase Alma BB bag’s youthful and energetic attitude. The bag’s fresh details and unique strap in graphic color options pay tribute to the line’s playful DNA.
The Louis Vuitton Alma with its curved and structured shape is instantly recognizable. Created in 1934 by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, it was the second handbag by Louis Vuitton, after the Speedy. Rumor has it that the Alma was originally made for Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel as a custom order in 1925 but later the iconic French fashion designer permitted it to be produced for the public later on.
Characterized by bold and architectural lines, the bag features the iconic leather handles called “Toron”. It opens wide due to the double zip and features two inside compartments. On the inside of the Alma, there is a soft microfibre lining. Sturdy studs on the bottom of the bag protect the material from scratches and dirt.
