Nicolas Ghesquière has unveiled a new Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2018 collection that invites to travel between past and future by linking savoir-faire with forward vision. The Creative Designer has married established wardrobe codes with contemporary elegance. Whether an ample coat or a fluid evening dress, slim trousers or blouses with flattering volumes, his collection asserts an updated interpretation of French chic. Colors of range highlight classic silhouettes and eclectic flourishes add new sophistication.
Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2018 collection also includes handbags, which further the iconic signatures of the fashion house. Among the standouts, a hatbox scaled down to a miniature size in the classic Monogram canvas, or the new Petite Malle, which envelops the Maison’s heritage with a layer of sparkle. Altogether, a sense of fluid force designed to endure.
The pieces from the new collection are showcased in the new video. Key looks and accessories come through with a sense of individuality and reinforce the strength of the inspired design. Nicolas Ghesquière envisioned the ready-to-wear to be oriented towards contemporary savoir-faire: a bustier embroidered by hand using a crochet technique gives off metallic luster, while a tweed jacket hand-stitched with chain embroidery elevates a traditional pattern with extra shine. Color-blocked dresses and tops boast inlays of silk and jersey that reinforce the collection’s contrasting attitudes of elegance and sport style.
The Headline shoes are made of hand-painted ostrich leather while their heels are wrapped in python, and a metal-and-leather accessory placed by hand comprise this striking design. These are just a few glimpses into the array of detailing that makes up the collection.
