The wait is over for nautical enthusiasts and luxury yacht lovers as the highly anticipated Cannes Yachting Festival 2023 is set to take place from the 12th to the 17th of September. This premier European boat show marks the official beginning of the nautical season and promises an array of exciting marine innovations. Among the stars of the show, Italian yacht manufacturer Azimut takes center stage, presenting a lineup of stunning yacht models, two of which will be making their world premieres – Magellano 60 and Verve 48.
One of the highlights stealing the spotlight at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival is the Magellano 60 – a true testament to Azimut’s commitment to innovation and elegance. Crafted with a crossover concept, this 60-footer is designed for passionate yacht owners who yearn for extraordinary voyages filled with charm and adventure.
What sets the Magellano 60 apart is its seamless fusion of spacious interiors and Ken Freivokh’s sophisticated design aesthetics. The cockpit effortlessly extends from the Main Deck’s lavish lounge, and the stern transforms into a transparent parapet-capped terrace – an Infinity Terrace that offers an unparalleled view of the water, fostering a harmonious connection with nature and the sea.
Underpinning its crossover spirit is the high-efficiency Dual Mode semi-planing hull. This remarkable feature ensures a comfortable experience at low speeds and adeptly handles higher speeds while minimizing wave impact, optimizing fuel consumption, and reducing emissions. Notably, the Magellano 60 becomes the trailblazer for Azimut’s partnership with Eni Sustainable Mobility, featuring the first voyage powered by HVOlution biofuel – a renewable biofuel made from 100% sustainable raw materials. Tests conducted in the summer of 2023 yielded exceptional results, showcasing an impressive over 80% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its fossil diesel counterpart.
Azimut’s Verve Series has always epitomized the perfect blend of sportiness and leisure, and the Verve 48 takes this philosophy to new heights. Making its global debut at the Cannes Boat Show, the Verve 48 is a dynamic sport weekender that boasts exciting design innovations.
Collaborating with Francesco Struglia, Azimut has sculpted an entirely new stern area for the Verve 48. This enlarged space integrates two ladders, facilitating easy access to the water. An expansive swim platform adds to the seamless water experience, forming a unified platform that celebrates the freedom of the open sea.
Equipped with three 600hp Mercury V12 engines, the Verve 48 demonstrates remarkable power and agility, reaching impressive speeds of up to 50 knots. This performance doesn’t come at the cost of efficiency, as fuel consumption sees a 15% reduction. Noise levels have been reduced by up to 10 decibels compared to its predecessor, enhancing the on-board experience. The Verve 48’s cockpit layout is thoughtfully designed to accommodate both adrenaline-packed adventures and relaxed moments, making every journey a memorable one.
The Cannes Yachting Festival 2023 is the stage for the grand water premiere of the S7 – the latest addition to Azimut’s S Series. First unveiled at Boot Düsseldorf 2023, the S7 is an exquisite motoryacht that marries style, sportiness, and sustainability.
Collaborating with renowned yacht designer Alberto Mancini and creative boutique Yachtique, Azimut has created a 22-meter cruiser that is not only stunning but environmentally conscious. Falling under Azimut’s Low Emission Yacht family, the S7 boasts advanced naval architecture, three Volvo IPS engines, and optimized hull lines designed in partnership with P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture. This combination results in an impressive up to 30% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to traditional hard-chine hull and shaft line models.
